Inductive sensors are a popular tool in industrial automation for detecting the presence of metallic objects in their field of operation. They work on the principle of electromagnetic induction, generating an electromagnetic field that is measured by the sensor. When a metal object enters the sensor field, this causes a change in the field, which in turn results in the detection of the object.
